Summit Member FAQ
-
Why do I have to sign a new waiver?
Sorry we know it’s a hassle! A new waiver is required because of the ownership change. Please complete a new waiver via Summit’s website before your next visit.
-
What’s happening to membership billing and management?
Movement bills members on the 1st of each month and will be transitioning Summit members to 1st of the month billing soon. The billing date shift will occur when we migrate Summit membership accounts from Mindbody to Movement’s billing system called Rock Gym Pro. Summit members currently have custom billing dates throughout the month and will continue to bill on those dates in Mindbody until the account migration to Rock Gym Pro is complete. We expect the account migration to occur in the next 30-60 days. Don’t worry—no action is required, and we’ll give you a heads up before that happens with all the details.
Need to submit a membership change request? Please continue to submit membership requests via Summit’s website until further notice. Find current policies and submit all requests at https://www.summitgyms.com/about/membership

Will my membership rate change?

Why is the Dallas gym closing?

Most of the current Dallas staff will transition to other gyms after the closure.

What happens to the OKC locations?
The future of the Summit locations in OK will be determined by the Summit ownership group as those gyms specifically were not part of the purchase agreement between the two brands.
-
Will business hours or member-only hours be changing?
Near term, there will be no change to hours or member vs. guest access. However, to avoid customer confusion we may look to align hours and access where it makes sense. Stay tuned for more information.
-
What will Movement’s approach to Auto-belays be in Dallas?
There are no plans to change auto-belay offerings in the immediate future. Auto–belays at Plano and Grapevine will remain and auto–belays will not be added to Design District (other than the speed wall). We will revisit that decision at a later time and clearly communicate any long-term strategy.
-
What will Movement’s approach be to tying a figure 8 knot to climb on top rope be?
We are switching Movement Design District top rope systems to align with the Clip-and-Go style process that has made Summit locations so accessible for new climbers. The conversion will happen on May 1. -

Should I expect any changes in the setting style or frequency at any gym?
At the outset, we will not be changing anything related to routesetting product or offering. Our priority is to understand the teams, workflows, and setting styles before making any changes so that we keep the best parts of the Summit Routesetting Program.
-
What happens to Team Texas?
Team Texas will have minimal changes for the remainder of this USAC Season and will continue to operate under Niko Romero’s leadership.
-
