Movement Lincoln Park offers more than 43,000 square feet of climbing and fitness facilities to the active and creative community in Lincoln Park. This gym has more than 200 routes on walls topping out at 56-feet high – ample space for every age and ability. We love helping new climbers learn and offer several introductory classes. In addition, we are a full-service gym with amenities like cardio equipment and weights, fitness and yoga classes, expert instructors, and a fully-stocked gear shop.

Dear friends, family, and community,
Philip is a cherished part of so many spaces in Chicago, dedicating his time and energy to guiding and uplifting others. Whether he’s leading a class at Zen Yoga Garage, Midtown Athletic Club, Yodega, here at Movement, or simply offering a listening ear, he brings warmth, wisdom, and support to everyone around him.
Recently, Philip has become aware of a genetic heart condition. Despite his active and healthy lifestyle, doctors discovered an abnormal presence of coronary artery disease. Other methods to intervene were unable to mitigate the severity of the disease, and it has been decided that he will require open-heart bypass surgery to prevent future complications. While this was not the outcome anyone expected, surgery became the best and most urgent option to protect his long-term health.
As he steps away from teaching to focus on recovery, we want him to feel the same love and support he has always given to others. Philip pours his heart into his work, helping students grow physically, mentally, and emotionally. Now, we have the opportunity to show up for him.
