Mantling is a technique where you press down on a hold and rock your weight over it—like getting out of a pool without a ladder. It’s all about body tension, balance, and trusting your feet to finish the move.
🎯 Pro Tip: Think Press & Shift
• Push down on the hold like it’s a countertop
• Step high and press through your foot
• Shift your weight over your hand to stand up

Paradox Mile is a vertical mile challenge fundraiser where participants climb 5,280 feet 😳 for the month of May to raise money and awareness for @paradoxsports and its adaptive programs.

Paradox Sports offers accessible climbing opportunities for people with differing abilities, defying the perception that people with a ‘disability’ cannot lead a life of adventure. They provide outdoor rock and ice climbing trips, training and local programs. They are passionate about engaging and welcoming everyone who is interested in participating, and at their core, they believe in building community.

Meet John, the artist behind the new murals at Movement Mountain View! 👋
John Patrick Thomas is an Oakland, CA-based muralist, artist and illustrator. His vibrant murals combine observational drawings and imaginative storytelling to transform public spaces with artwork that celebrates local culture, community and our shared connection to the natural world.
“For my mural at the Movement Mountain View gym, I wanted to feature drawings from the sketchbooks I’ve filled during my adventures around local climbing spots. My goal was to create a composition of small scenes that flow together, unfolding like a series of memories from a climbing trip. I hope my murals communicate in a clear, universal way, so that people of all backgrounds and experiences see their own joy and stories reflected in the artwork”.
