Yes. All individuals at Movement Climbing + Fitness are required to sign a facility waiver and watch the Movement Orientation video. Children under the age of 18 years old must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. This waiver is also available electronically at each of our Front Desks!
You are welcome to come in at any time! Once you have filled out our facility waiver and watched the Movement Orientation video, you will be able to walk around and check out our fitness and yoga studios and climbing areas.
We highly suggest attending our Movement Orientation Class, located on our schedule. This class will include an in-depth tour going over climbing etiquette and safety, our offerings, membership pricing and will answer any remaining general questions you might have. Outside of the class, we do have Community Guides each evening that would be happy to give you a personalized tour around the facility.
While classes aren’t required to start climbing at Movement, we highly recommend newer climbers to sign up for our climbing programs that cover our requirements, expectations, and tips for your new favorite hobby!
First-time climbers often begin with bouldering as it is free of any certification or rope experience. Please note: Bouldering is dangerous, and could result in injury. To ensure you are aware of the risks of bouldering, please watch our Movement Orientation video and also speak to the nearest Community Guide.
A day pass to Movement Climbing + Fitness includes full access to our world-class climbing routes, climbing-specific training areas, quality fitness and yoga classes, full-service weight rooms, and community events.
If you decide you’d like to become a member by the end of the day, we’ll even apply your day pass to your total membership cost!
Rental Gear comes at an additional cost.
Yoga and Fitness classes are first come first serve and require no prior sign up. We do recommend showing up 10-15 minutes early to meet the instructor and to find your spot (if applicable).
We do not have auto-belays in our facilities. However, we do offer a class at our roped facilities called The Rope Up! This class is designed for members and guests of the MC+F community who are looking to meet belay partners and build friendships based on trust and a shared interest in rock climbing. All abilities are welcome and must be top rope belay certified. Check out our schedules for specific days and times!
In the top rope belay test, we ask for in-depth safety checks for your climbing and belay set up. We will also observe your belay technique and ability to catch a fall and descend a climber. The belay test does not include instruction and can only be taken once per day.
Belay tests are first-come-first-serve and require no prior sign up. If you wish to take a belay test, stop by the Front Desk!
The lead certification encompasses a relevant questionnaire, and a climbing and belaying practical including an unannounced fall on one of our lead test routes. Climbers must supply their own climbing partner for the test.
