Meet Taylor, a boulderer who joined our gym two years ago! Climbing has become her way to stay healthy, push out of her comfort zone, and hang out with friends.
⭐What’s your favorite thing about climbing and the climbing community?
I used to hate working out, but now I have a fun way to exercise and lower my cholesterol. I’ve also met so many kind, encouraging, and down-to-earth people at Movement. It can be hard to make new friends as an adult, but our climbing community has made it so easy.
⭐What’s one piece of advice you have for folks new to climbing and the community?
Don’t be afraid to try a tough move or even touch a boulder because it looks too hard. You never know what you’re capable of unless you try — and keep on trying. This is advice that I’m still trying to follow myself!
⭐Do you have any climbing goals?
Send my first V8 in 2026. And stay injury-free!

What’s included with a Movement LIC membership?
Your Movement LIC membership gives you unlimited access to climbing, yoga, and fitness at all Movement gyms. Enjoy free classes and clinics, guest passes, and exclusive discounts on gear and programs—everything you need to climb, train, and move.

When is Movement LIC open, and what are the least busy times?
Movement LIC is open Monday–Friday, 6am–11pm, and Saturday–Sunday, 9am–10pm. The gym is usually quietest in the mornings and early afternoons on weekdays and afternoons and evenings on weekends.

Where is Movement LIC located, and how do I get there (parking + transit)?’
Movement LIC is located in Long Island City at 11-11 44th Dr, Queens. We’re steps from Court Square Station, served by the 7, E, G, and M subway lines, and near bus routes Q67, Q101, Q103, B32, and E62. Limited street parking is available in the gym’s immediate vicinity, so we recommend arriving by public transit.

What amenities does this gym have (bouldering, rope climbing, yoga/fitness, showers, etc.)?
Movement LIC offers rope climbing with walls up to 45 ft, lead cave, two floors of bouldering, a fitness mezzanine with weight and cardio equipment, and unlimited yoga and fitness classes. You’ll also find locker rooms with showers, a gear shop, bike storage room, and community lounge areas.
The facility is ADA accessible with accessible restrooms and climbing areas. -
I’m new—how do I start? Do you offer an intro class or a trial membership?
We’ve got you covered! Whether you’re learning the ropes or starting with bouldering, our intro classes are the perfect way to start your climbing journey. We also offer a 15-day trial membership that gives you unlimited access to climbing, yoga, and fitness—plus free gear rentals, access to both intro bouldering and intro ropes classes, and a waived initiation fee if you join afterward
