YEEHAW, partner! It’s time for our annual community rope competition at Design District! This is a redpoint competition open to all levels, followed by an onsight finals round for… (drumroll, please) ALL  CATEGORIES!

Mark your calendar

  • Saturday, February 10 @ Design District

how does it work?

There will be two waves this year – pick the time slot that you want to compete in!

  • Wave 1: 11am – 2pm (Check-in 10am)
  • Wave 2: 4pm – 7pm (Check-in 3pm)

There are 3 hours in each wave for competitors to climb and log sends into KAYA. Here’s the rule breakdown:

  • You’ll be able to climb as many routes as you want as many times as you want.
  • Each route will have a point value to it.
  • Your top 3 routes count as your total score. There will be no flash bonus.
  • Honor system, so please no cheating!
  • We will be using the KAYA app, so make sure you have it installed and set-up before the competition.
  • You must be 16 years old or older to compete.

Competitor tickets include a competition t-shirt, snacks, drinks (non alcoholic and alcoholic / ID must be presented), and 2 raffle tickets for the chance to win sickkk prizes! Spectating passes are free all day!

Unlike last year’s Saddle Up comp with only open finals, EVERY category (beginner, intermediate, advanced, and open) will have a finals route! Beginner, intermediate, and advanced finals will run simultaneously in the evening (after the second wave), while open finals will run separately at the end of the competition and before the raffle prize drawing.

We will be taking day-of walk-in competitors for all categories. However, if you plan to compete in Open you MUST sign-up prior to day-of the competition if you want to be eligible to compete in Finals!
