Welcome to Movement’s first-ever FLASH OR TRASH competition – coming to you Saturday, December 7th at Denton! Gather your crew for a climbing competition where every attempt counts – literally. You get ONE shot at each boulder problem – flash it, or trash it (don’t worry, we’ll provide beta videos).

This competition is for climbers of ALL skill levels (Recreational, Intermediate, Advanced, and Open)! Flash Or Trash will consist of 2 waves lasting 2 hours per wave, followed by a sweeeeet onsight finals for Advanced and Open categories. There will be raffles, beer in the evening, one-of-a-kind climbs, a floor-is-lava mini-comp, vendors, flash tats over at Dark Age Tattoo, and more! Don’t miss out on this unique competition experience.

Details:

There are two waves of competition – pick the time slot that you want to compete in! There are 2 hours in each wave for competitors to climb and log sends.

• Wave 1: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm (Check-in 9:00 am)
• Wave 2: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm (Check-in 12:00 pm)

Advanced and Open Onsight Final will follow at 4:30pm. Anyone and everyone are welcome to come and cheer on our finalists! Spectating is free, and waivers will be required for anyone spectating.

Pricing

• Member competitor entry – $35
• Non-member competitor entry – $40

Categories: Female, Male, Non-binary

• Recreational: VB – V2
• Intermediate: V3 – V5
• Advanced: V6 – V8
• Open: V8+

You must be 16+ to compete. Each competitor will be issued a raffle ticket. Must be present to win, raffle will be held after Open Finals.

Flash Or Trash Rules:

• Each boulder problem will have a point value to it.
• You get one chance to “Flash” the route. If you send, you get the points for that route. If you do not send, then that route is now “Trash” and you do not get points for that route. Each category will have a set of boulders – you are trying to flash as many of those climbs as you can for as many points as you can.
• Once you have tried all your routes for your category, head on over to the LABB side of the gym (spray wall/fitness area) to participate in our Floor is Lava competition and raffle!
