𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 & 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐚! 🧗♂️🧗♀️
This week, we’re shining a spotlight on two incredible members of our community! Peter and Angela have been climbing at Gowanus since 2022 and bring great energy, support, and stoke to every session.
Here’s a little more about them! ⬇️
“Peter and Angela spend a disproportionate amount of time roaming the city in search of comfort food, usually on bikes. You’ll probably run into them loitering on the lead floor, doing more socializing than climbing.”
𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐛𝐞?
Peter: Yosemite, but it’s empty
Angela: China! But it is also a small dream of mine to do a little-known 22-pitch climb in my hometown in Utah.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐫?
Peter: Rest where you can rest so you can push where you need to push. It’s never not ok to try.
Angela: If you find a pair of shoes that’s perfect for your feet…buy as many pairs as you can afford. If anyone has a pair of the men’s 5.10 men’s Hiangle Pros in 5.5 they’re trying to part with…let’s talk!!
𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐛𝐞?
Peter: The little kid from Up mixed with the dad from Aftersun
Angela: Wile E. Coyote (an anvil falls on my head every time we climb)
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐚 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝?
Peter: The no eating, no warm up beta
Angela: I climbed the hardest when I subsisted on nachos and Levain cookies
If you see Peter and Angela around the gym, say hey! 👋
