  • 12 Hours of Movement Misery 💀

    Misery loves company. Join us at all 6 Movement DFW locations for 12 Hours of Movement Misery 2025 on Saturday, August 16.  This is our 10th annual 12 hour competition, open to climbers of all levels (members and nonmembers alike)! From 8am-8pm, you and a partner of your choosing will tour all DFW Movement locations and climb as many routes and boulders as possible (bonus points for the more locations you visit, or for taking yoga/fitness classes during the day).

    We’ll wrap up the day with an after-party at Movement Grapevine, featuring tons of raffle prizes, podiums, a costume contest, food + drinks, and allllll the party vibes! Don’t miss out – sign up early to guarantee your t-shirt size!

There’s science behind what makes a beautiful climb, and our setting team at The Hill just proved it by applying the fundamentals of graphic design to their craft.

Here’s your crash course in the principles they used:

emphasis ⚫️ // draws attention to the most important part of your design

proximity 🔴 // grouping related elements of a design together

contrast ⚪️🔴 // creating noticeable difference between design elements. adds visual interest to a design, as the human eye naturally gravitates towards higher contrast

balance ⚪️ // the distribution of visual weight within a composition, creating a sense of stability and equilibrium. ensuring that no single element overpowers the others

white space 🔵 // areas of a design left intentionally blank, creating breathing room + clarity in a design
