Welcome to Movement Portland. Located in the Northwest Pearl District of Portland, this is a world-class training facility for beginners and elite athletes alike. We have 30,500 square feet of custom Walltopia wall designs for roped climbing and bouldering. Walls reach 55 feet high and feature 200 routes and 18 cracks, four of which are hydraulically adjustable. The bouldering area offers up a 18-foot high ball boulder and a 40-foot ramp to explore.

A-D route grading is back! 🌟
As of today (March 3), +/- grading will be retired and replaced with A-D grading at all Movement gyms. We’ve experimented with many grading systems across our gyms, and through our collective experience, we feel that A-D offers the most optimal in-gym experience when combined with consensus grading.
This A-D and consensus dynamic duo offers three key benefits ⬇️
1️⃣ Subjectivity of grading: Your experience with a climb is unique to you! Our setters do their best in averaging their experience, empathy for climbers of all ranges, results on consensus tags, and observations/conversations with the community to inform which grade to place on a climb.
2️⃣ Increased granularity improves the ability to self-curate your experience: We know that tracking progress and performance is important to many climbers, and with a more granular grade offering, session curation and performance tracking is improved.
3️⃣ Authentic to the core of our sport: The most common grading system for sport climbing is the YDS A-D system. Grades vary wildly depending on the area, first ascensionist, ethics, etc., but we feel it is important to align with this system as it provides an experience that is relatable and authentic to the sport.

🏃♀️ Brooke’s 100-Mile Journey 🌄
What does it take to conquer a 100-mile trail race? For @brookeskyd , it was grit, heart, and a whole lot of training. After just one year of racing, she set her sights on the Canyons 100 Endurance Run—
For four months leading up to the race, Brooke dedicated herself to a 4-5 day weekly strength training regimen at Movement Portland, where she’d been a member for five years. The gym had become a second home for her training, and the community here was part of her motivation.
